Brief Introduction of DIET MuzaffarNagar.
As the most significant Educational intervention, District Institute of Education and Training MuzaffarNagar practically came into existence in 1992 by Govt. of Uttar Pradesh vide G.O.No 1736/15-(13)/90-1499 (55) dated 18-09-1990 formerly known as Junior Basic Training School. DIET MuzaffarNagar started imparting different kinds of trainings programmes in its premises with a view to ensure the quality in the system of Basic education in the District as a whole.
DIET MuzaffarNagar has an academic faculty of highly qualified teachers who simultaneously work as Block Mentors too. While visiting BRCs, NPRCs and schools, they supervise and guide the teachers to sort out their problems, which they face interacting with their students.
DIET MuzaffarNagar is centrally situated on the circular road of the MuzaffarNagar city itself and well connected by trains and road transport system.
AIMS:
District Institute of Education and Training MuzaffzrNagar has apparently the following aims and objectives-
To prepare efficient and well-trained teachers through its pre-service department.
Apart from teachers other functionaries like BRC
co-ordinators, NPRC co-ordinators, ABSAs and District co-ordinators are also trained and made well informed about the latest on going schemes and concepts confronting basic education system.
To train instructors and supervisors under alternative schooling and to train the members of the VEC (village education committee).
To carry on action researches and developing schools into model schools with special reference to cluster of schools in the lab area.
To evolve an effective system of comprehensive and continuous evaluation system.
To develop rapport with the community through ARG (Academic Resource Group) constituted by the DIET at the district level.
To design different kinds of training programmes which are genuinely need based.
To conduct monthly meeting of BRC co-ordinators and monitor the educational activities, which they are, supposed to perform in their respective blocks.
Proper guidance and linkage with ABSAs, BRC & NPRC co -ordinators, women motivators group and involving community with a view to seek their co-operation in propagating the importance of elementary education.
To work as an important agency in implementing the education policy framed at National and State level as well.
To ensure effective implementation of schemes introduced by State Project office/SCERT Lucknow.
TRANSACTIONAL PHILOSOPY:
Main functions, which DIET M.Nagar is presently doing, are as follows:
1. Training (both Pre-service as well as in service training programmes)
2. Resource support (extention/ guidance, development of materials aids, evaluation tools etc.)
3. Action Research (details have been mentioned below)
The faculty members have finalized action researches on the following topics: -
· Lack of science practicals from class III to class IV
Researcher-Mrs. Rehana zabi (lect.)
· Teaching of social studies lacks Globe and Maps in class V. Researcher-Mrs. Anju Verma (lect.)
· To sort out tendencies of committing spelling mistakes in the teaching of Sanskrit language in class VI. Researcher-Dr. Praveen Rani Gupta (lect.)
· To develop interest in Maths among the primary level students. Researcher-Sh. SUDHEER KUMAR (lect.)

BTC 2004 BATCH IS RUNNING154 pupil Teachers are under training, IN BTC Urdu batch 65 pupil Teachers are under training. SBTC 2007, against 900 seats 720 pupil teachers trained and posted in schools by BSA 80 pupil Teachers are under training. SBTC 2008 special selection, against 46 seat 38 pupil Teachers are under training. SBTC 2008againest 144 seat, 90 pupil Teachers are under training.

NPRC Coordinators are to be trained under the continuing education programme.

30 Days training programme (foundation course) of siksha mitra is presently going on in the premises of DIET.
80 Special BTC candidates (2007 Batch) are undergoing six months training.
38 Special BTC candidates (2008 S. S.Batch) are undergoing six months training.
90 Special BTC candidates (2008 Batch) are undergoing six months training.
At present TLM workshop of PS /UPS teachers is undergoing in the campus.
3 days training programme of primary school Head masters for capacity building on unnayan module.

Training on comprehensive and continuous evaluation system has already been conducted in DIET for the primary and upper primary teachers.
Action research programme conducted by DIET mantors/brc/nprc/coordinators.
TECHNICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT:
· TLM mela has already been held at NPRC / BRC level and District level TLM mela has been proposed to be held on 21jan2010. Instructions have been given to all ABSAs, BRC Co-ordinators, NPRC Co-ordinators and subject teachers to exhibit teaching learning material in the premises of DIET.DIOS & BSA have also been asked to ensure the participation of private educational institutions.
· Learning programme has been started all ps by LEPSSA.
MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT:
04 Action researches have already been finalized by the faculty members. and 06 more Action researches have been proposed to be conducted by the faculty members in the month of Feb. and March 09.
20 primary schools of Lab Area have been identified and sincere efforts are been made by DIET faculty members to develop these school as modal schools.
Annual Work Plan for the year 2009- 10 has already been submitted by the DIET.

MONITORING AND LINKAGE:
A monthly meeting of BRC co-ordinators is held at DIET on the 5th day of each month where pedagogical issues are collectively discussed, just to ascertain the sincere efforts which they make in regard to educational support & guidance while visiting primary schools and interacting with the NPRC co-ordinators. During the meeting BRC co-ordinators make presentations of teachers guides (Sikshak sandrashikays) with a view to display effective teaching. Methods and with DIET faculty members all together difficult portions of Maths & Science subjects are discussed to make all the relevant contents easily followable. Serious discussions take place at NPRC level . Roster workshop where academic problems brought to the notice are sorted out with a purpose of improving the quality of Basic Education as a whole.
· Different types of training progremmes have been conducted in the premises of the DIET with a view to make all the teachers well-informed about the latest techniques of effective teaching so that the level of quality in the school system may be upgraded.
· Apart from that a District level Mela is likely to be held on the 22feb 2009, where all govt. as well as private educational institutions will participate , so that all the teachers from different channels may be involved through collective sincere efforts.
